It was held as a  part of the "Japan Fairy Tale Festival" on Children's Day, May 5, in Kusu town, Oita Prefecture.

A 60-meter long jumbo carp streamer was spread out on the ground for participants to walk through.

The participating parents and children were amazed at the giant eyes and scales of the Koinobori, which seemed to be alive as they rippled in the wind.

Koinobori (carp streamers) are a long-established custom in Japan, and are hoisted by each family to pray that their children will grow up to be like carp swimming ively.
