The year 2023 is reported to be the hottest year in recorded history.

Average near-surface temperatures exceeded pre-industrial levels by 1.45 degrees Celsius.

It is likely that 2024 will also break last year's record, and the United Nations warns that climate change is accelerating due to pollution from fossil fuels.

Last year's heat wave was very hot, but will it be hotter this year?
